The Cook Island Canoeing Association is hosting the
inaugural Rarotonga Vaka Eiva from the 19th to the
26th of November 2004. Our goal is to have at least
one team from our Pacific neighbours (and hopefully
more) and currently include Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti,
New Zealand, Australia and Samoa, although the event
is open to clubs from around the World.
As the island of Rarotonga is circular, the course
offers all conditions with wind and surf coming from
all directions throughout the race. This tests the
skills of the paddlers as they tackle the 36km course.
